Pastor Oshebar L. Hardman was born in Queens, New York and raised Lake City, South Carolina. He is the youngest son to the proud parents, Bishop Oscar and Elder Frankie Mae Hardman. Growing up with both parents in ministry, he has been involved in church since he could remember. From reading scripture to singing on the church choir, church ministry was a major influence during his formative years. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of South Carolina where he received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue an engineering career. However, God began to deal with him significantly leading him to his purpose. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became heavily involved in ministry at Elizabeth Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Craig L. Oliver Sr.
While at Elizabeth, he met and married his lovely wife Ebonie Hardman after only knowing each other for two months. They are the proud parents of four beautiful daughters, Olivia, Oceana, Olympia and Opal. He continued to follow God’s will for his life and accepted the call to ministry in 2004. He was licensed and ordained under his father in 2007. Following a vision given by God he founded the Heart Church in Smyrna, GA, where he pastored for 6 years cultivating his passion of shaping lives, helping the community, and building the Kingdom. In 2013, through God’s providence, a shift was made in his life transitioning him to becoming the 8th pastor of Second Mount Vernon Baptist Church. He is thankful to God for entrusting him with such a wonderful and loving church family. He continues to exemplify the attributes of service, dedication, and leadership to the SMV congregation.
Pastor Hardman along with his beautiful wife Ebonie co-authored a book entitled, “Preparing For Marriage God’s Way, The Journey of One Woman and One Man.” He holds various degrees from Luther Rice Seminary & University, including a Master of Divinity degree, Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. along with many other civic organizations. Pastor Hardman’s mission is reaching the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and cultivating them into true believers.
